04/10/10 – Bike – Proud and Disgusted
Today’s ride started out with a my garmin freezing after 3 minutes into the ride but I didn’t notice it for about 5 minutes. Turning it off and on actually got it going again right where it left off. Wow, when does that happen.
Breathing should be so norm. But for an asthmatic and an athlete it’s not that easy. Today was one of those days. I coughed hard for about the first 1:15 while my lungs tried to get air. Fortunately, that was the worst of it and it eventually calmed down. Patience is needed.
Hubby rode with me and we went to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary (not yet open) and the over the Delta Port overpass and then towards Tsawwassen and turned around at 1:15 so that I would have the perfect 2:30 ride. No sense in doing any more than is on the schedule. If the coach wanted me to do more he would have said so, right!
It was a beautiful morning here in South Delta and only a little wind to remind us we live on the water.
The highlight of the ride was the development of a new skill. I can now blow my nose while riding my bike and without any aides, i.e. Kleenex. I was both proud and disgusted with myself!
P.S. Had a tech difficulty and lost the ride file. Drove me crazy but the fact is I did the ride and that’s what really matters.
